Soles Union is all about wearing the real deal. A new streetwear retail brand established in mid-2023, they aim to become the leading sneaker retailer in Malaysia, offering complete sneaker care that includes cleaning, restoration, and protection under the market acclaimed SU-552 inspection. Their growing collection of footwear and apparel guarantees an authentic streetwear experience, with listings totalling over half a million ringgit (and counting) in value.

Soles Union is a prime example of what we aim to achieve as a space aspiring to be an enterprising hub for the arts. Too Yum is a cafe started in 2019 by 4 well-traveled youths who came together as food critics. As part of their long term efforts to empower, preserve, and promote local folklore and legends, they have set up the Hikayat Fandom Folklore World, a resource and activity centre showcasing the rich literature and legends of Malaysia to the world.

Hikayat Fandom’s active efforts in seeking out storytellers to share and inspire the younger generation through creative content like videos, films, graphic arts, and publications is a big reason why we believe in their work. DANIELLE LIN ART is a studio founded in early 2023 Danielle Lin to share her unique body of work feating teddy bears, dolls, and other toys that weaves social commentary on championing one’s own stories. Founded by Tintoy Chuo and Take Huat in 2012, Fusion WK works with the 13th Tok Dalang Mr. Pak Dain as their chief engineer. They are most popular with their Peperangan Bintang series, which fuses Star Wars with wayang kulit.

ATOZ CARBON CYCLE  is a local effort to showcase the extraordinary potential of microalgae and Black Soldier Fly (BSF) products through innovation and sustainability. It offers a curated selection of microalgae-infused items, from nutrient-packed supplements to eco-friendly products and sustainable foods, on top of hands-on microalgae workshops led by experts.

Chun Eng’s Gallery is the space for Chun Eng – a humble artist from Pantai Remis – to learn and discover about himself as he trains to become an abstract artist under the tutelage of Phillip Wong. Chun Eng began his journey in art with The One Academy, before going on a journey of self-discovery until he discovered Phillip Wong and Telur Pecah.

Professionally managed by Nexus Event Management, it includes spaces for art exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and artistic discussions. The space is curated by Malaysian artist Luqman Rosnan, and hopes to become a cultural catalyst and promote creative exploration and community-based artistic engagement within Malaysia’s art ecosystem.

Gallery Gerimis is the physical manifestation of a long-term collaborative art project and archiving initiative for Malaysia’s Orang Asli (OA). Working with key OA figures and community members, this space aims to recognise, revive and preserve OA arts and cultural heritage to help it become part of the overall Malaysian arts and cultural narrative.

We’re humbled to be a space for GERIMIS to push for permanent recognition and representation of OA in Malaysian arts and culture.

A community that shares a space to encourage self-discovery and connections, Sama Sama Studios is a great effort of artists banding together to create a shared space and opportunity.

Hand-crafted accessories and items

RHINO ARTS & DESIGN is a little crafts enterprise working with woven bags, handmade clogs, and wooden board paintings. They embellish their items with decorative accessories such as batik scarf and artificial flowers. They also work with magnetic items such as mini claps, small wooden board, and plaster.

When we began on our journey, we knew that we wanted to be a space for enterprises in creative and cultural arts. We’re glad that RHINO has chosen us a home to #makeMore with.

A gallery, a studio, a store for cats

YY Cat Stories is the gallery, studio, and store for Maoren YY, a creative brand created from the whimsical mind of KL artist and writer Tham YooYee. Trained in fine arts, Tham spent years in journalism before returning to her deep love of painting, storytelling, and cats in 2018. She blends culture, travel, and feline charm into merchandise, memorabilia, and items whose proceeds go to Love Cat House, a cat shelter in Ipoh.

As a creative community mall, we are eager to do #MoreTogether with artists like Tham in creating wholesome, complete creative works and brands and show the world how the creative and cultural arts can be sustainable.

Film Gazing is the second branch of Kukun Film & Thrift in Puchong, focusing on photo films and digicams and everything else adjacent and in between. They are perfect for those with an eye for a shot who take photos as a return ticket to a moment or a memory.

Being able to fulfill the demand for small retail spaces for industrious creative arts communities fills us up with pride and satisfaction. Communal spaces like Film Gazing is proof that we can fulfill our part and do #MoreTogether for the local creative and cultural arts.

DIA Academy is the home for Dialogue Includes All, a social enterprise working towards an inclusive and empathetic society where all are equal with zero barriers and no separation between the abled and disabled. Their mission and key objectives are based on goals 1, 4, 10, and 17 of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). It features their popular Dialogue in the Dark programme, not to mention specially curated discovery and learning centres for the public.

Ability and talent can result in unintended discrimination, commonly against those who are less able and talented. This ignorance is a by-product of society, so efforts like DIA Academy to overcome this divide is inspiring. We’re glad to be a home for them to #makeMore difference in our society, especially in a way that makes the best out of creative arts.

DARKROOM GALLERY is an immersive photography gallery by GMBB inspired by the success of Chien C.Lee’s acclaimed Borneo’s Tree of Life exhibition. Utilizing the beautifully renovated gallery space that provided the space, atmosphere, and attraction for a brilliant photography exhibition, Darkroom Gallery will take advantage of the cool all-dark treatment and lightbox displays to create a space for photographers and their work.

We are anxiously excited with this endeavour as its one of our earliest efforts into having our own gallery that is thematic and conceptual. We are hoping that this will help the local photography community meet more and make more.

Born and raised in Sandakan, Kenji Chai is one of the country’s leading graffiti artist since the 2000s. He draws his style from his passion for animals and nature, each piece a statement on behalf of the environment by using the vibrant colors and elements of pop culture.

FIVE ARTS CENTRE is one of the earliest, long-lasting, and sustainable theatre collectives in Malaysia. Formed in 1984 to articulate the complexity of Malaysian culture and identity, they are a dynamic collection of artists, activists, and producers that have produced acclaimed works of performative art across South East Asia, Asia Pacific, and Central Europe.
